Bolton Wanderers on verge of Administration

Sky Sports News is reporting that the deal to buyout Bolton Wanderers, from a Cheshire consortium is OFF.

The club faces a winding up petition on Wednesday (tomorrow at date of print). If successful the club would be pushed into administration. This would then trigger an automatic 12 point deduction from the EFL, guaranteeing relegation to club to League One.

The club has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this season. The players and staff were only recently being paid their wages despite given assurances from the clubs owner they would be paid weeks ago.

Bolton Wanderers are one of the founders of the Football League back in 1888. The club have the dubious honour of having spent more seasons than any other club in the top flight without winning the title.
