Petition gains pace over boss who won’t stop hugging staff

The Staff at Ted Baker have launched a petition accusing its founder Ray Kelvin of inappropriate behaviour which includes “forced hugging”.

Ray Kelvin is famous for going to extreme lengths to avoid having his picture taking and is apparently well known for greeting one and all with a hug. Now you would think – “What’s the problem with this guys and gals, a hug is just a hug.”

Well the Mash Report did a comically accurate skit that pointed out that even a hug can be sexual harrassment if its for one’s sexual gratification.

“It is part of a culture that leaves harassment unchallenged,” they claim.

The petition on the workplace website Organise had more than 2,000 signatures by Sunday evening.

We have Tweeted Ted Baker the above link to the video and have asked if they’ve ever watched it and will let you know if we get any feedback.

It is also claimed that as well as engaging them in unwelcome embraces, the brand’s founder asked young female members of staff to sit on his knee, cuddle him, or let him massage their ears.

They also allege that millionaire Mr Kelvin, who launched Ted Baker more than 30 years ago, regularly uses sexual innuendo.
